Garrulous Geek

A few weeks back there was a guy who bitched on his blog about his boss or something, and then got sacked because his boss read the blog entry.

Well, I'm going to live on the edge and bitch about my job to bring some of you up to speed, who are in the dark. I doubt anyone from work will find this, so I'll take my chances.

My current job sucks, because they changed my job title and description about 3 months into the job. They moved me from doing stuff I enjoy (fixing PCs and printers and stuff) with a team of other people, to doing stuff I don't enjoy (website design with no guidance whatsoever) in an office with no windows or heating on my own.

Pretty rubbish, huh?

Long story short the new job I'm taking is working as an ICT Technician (in the traditional computer-fixing sense of the word) at a school over the other side of the city. It's the same thing as I was meant to be doing here, but hopefully I'll actually be doing that there.

I'm better now by the way. I spent the weekend wearing a scarf and eating Strepsils and getting lots of sleep, so I've killed the sore throat I had. Immune system 1 - Sore throat 0.

Right. Gotta go pick up my beautiful wife from work and go home. Later people.

Well, I've e-mailed a whole shedload of people to say hi and - amongst other things - to plug this site, so I expect to be deluged with hellos and comments and whatever. Or not. We'll see.

I'll be doing my best to keep this blog up to date with whatever pops into my head. I'm still a bit mystified by the whole blog phenomenon (here we go, I'm meta-blogging already) but I had my webspace and my domain name and I figured this was a fairly easy thing to put up here. A whole bunch of my friends have their blogs over at 20six.co.uk so I did consider setting up over there, but I figured it made more sense to use my own name. If they want to link to me then they can feel free.

So... anyway. Let's hope someone actually bothers turning up to read this! We shall see...

I've just got a new job, which is only really of interest if you know how much my current job sucks. Either way, I'm outta here in 4 weeks and on to somewhere else, where the office has windows and I will hopefully have something to do. I'll also be getting a bit more money which will be nice.

I'm off home now. I feel ill.
