I hate to say it but although windfarms etc are a nuicence they are hardly likey to cause cancerous tumours! Ah well, I'm sure it's just Sellafield, who incidently have a sparkling record on nuclear leaks etc. NOT.
True, though this site suggests that a nuclear power plant can do the job of about 350 of the best wind turbines. The issue of space is a compelling one.
I concede that nuclear has had a rough track record in parts, but it was primitive technology. Newer models of reactor are orders of magnitude safer. This debate website has an interesting comparision of wind and nuclear.
Hey up kids... just texted my big brother to chastise him! Still, I would rather have a nuclear power plant with the tiny chance of it all going a bit wrong than have most of rural Britain covered in wind farms and spoiling all vestiges of beauty that is left.
Hey ho... Dxx
I reckon Wind turbine milly thingies are kool. not that we should have zillions of them, but i reckon there are plenty of shitty bits of countryside we dont use for anything except motorways, why not stick them there? bonus
That said, nuclear power is defo the way forward
wasn't knocking it completely just saying that growing up with jokes about selefield can damage your trust in thing really.
I reckon wind turbines are inefficient, and need a level of efficiency and support that we cannot sustain. Sustainability is a huge driver in society, and the long and short of it is that somone, somewhere will pay. Nuclear provides a huge numbers of answers, but does have a high potential cost. In my opinion, better to build an unihabited hole in the ground full of waste we can't currently deal with than blot the landscape or coastline. Its all fun though innit!
