Pete, along the lines of what you've said about it acheiving nothing and making you hate them more, what do you make of this little stunt pulled in Oxford this last week? It's closer to me than the london stuff cos I'm a hardcore boatie, and I know how much annoyance upset and hassle it's caused to people I care for.
http://www.directaction.info/news_july06_05.htm It just infuriates me that people can be so ignorant and stupid. sigh
oooh. it took out the underscores. there's one between news and july, and one between 06 and 05. xxx
Fixed. It was a problem with a plugin - it was converting underscores to italic tags. I've disabled it, so things work properly now.
As for the ALF/boathouse thing... I really lose patience with the ALF. They're maniacs. The thing that really bugs me about them is that they have no concept of proportion. It's like "OK, you as an individual work as a cleaner in a lab that has some links to animal testing. As punishment for this we will blow up your car and exhume your grandmother's body." Like, what the hell? In this case you've got Oxford University getting the rights to a contract to build a lab that the ALF don't like, so they destroy a whole bunch of boats belonging to a club that is a tiny subset of the university as a whole, made up of people who almost certainly have nothing to do with the lab. Hello? They're a bunch of idiots, and the sooner they learn to peacefully protest the better. Anyway! Rant over. For the record, I could understand if that were to frustrate you a great deal, as it's closer to home and more relevant to you and your life.
Sometimes, Pedro, that thing up there in the corner - 'talking rubbish since...' isn't entirely correct. Sometimes... you talk sense
