but what about the fact that if we were to expel all the foreign people that come in and cause us problems, then we would be more able to deal with the people that already live here who are causing us problems?
That's nonsese. Sorry to be blunt matt but really! Granted if people are here illegally there are processes that need to take place to deal with it but are the problems of british society going to be solved by chucking out loads of people who are hard working and by all rights should be allowed to stay. The problem is that we've lost sight of the fact that there are true moral rights and wrongs. But western society as a whole is rejecting that in favour of the idea that it doesn't matter what you do so long as you're happy and no one gets too hurt. Well that's bob quite frankly and we're reaping the "benefits" as people are awash in a society with no boundries in it's own head but run with them still in place. Say what you like about people from other nations but I think you'll find the problem is much deeper. Rant over!
Well, it's a rather arbitrary decision to say that we'll chuck out non-British freeloaders and cheats so that we can support the British freeloaders and cheats. I'd sooner get rid of all freeloaders and cheats so that the productive members of society can make the most of it.
yeah, i didnt mean bin all asylum seekers. but there should be a process to make sure that they get jobs that are paid at the same rate a home born british person would, therby eliminating the factor that they may get a job over a white person because the enmployer could pay them less. they should be have to be in work within a certain period of time i think and then they would be contributing to society quickly and also not freeloading. how to deal with our own freeloaders? well we cant just kick them out of the country, thats hardly fair on the other coutry u bin them to. so there does need to be a better system to sort that out.
Alreety then arr Pete, lets have your plan for chucking out all the freeloaders/cheats in Britain... ( white, black, green or purple, English, Irish, Outer-Mongolian, or Eskimo).
What is currently annoying me... is the apparent influx of pregnant women who come to Britain a week before they're due, get the NHS to sort out their birth, then they're off again back to where they came from, with their nice little babies. Left the NHS with several hundred pounds worth of unpaid bills last year apparently.
hundreds of thousands...
curse my typing speed to thinking speed ratio.
Indeed, Rach, that is quite cheeky. I'm told (by my immigrant French Muslim colleague!) that they also turn up here and give birth so that the child is then a British citizen, and they are thus harder to shift. Very cunning.
The other thing is, people's definition of "immigrant" is a bit weird. I mean, you might say that "immigrants" are people who moved here themselves. However, as far as I can see, "immigrant" status sticks around forever - people whose families have lived here for four or five generations still count, and certainly anyone who looks a bit foreign. Of course, this doesn't seem to apply to (white) Americans, (white) Australians or the other Anglos that come over at will, though some of those seem fairly undesireable to me (Rupert Murdoch, anyone?).
Let's be frank about this: if "immigrant" means someone whose ancestors moved to the British Isles, then the entire population are immigrants. Humanity did not spontaneously arise in Britain. People have been migrating to/invading the place since the dawn of history, whether they be Eastern Europeans nowadays, Jamaicans in the mid-20th century, Normans, Saxons, Vikings or Romans. I suppose anyone whose bloodline is 100% pure Celt has a better claim than most to indigenous status, but even the Celts moved over from the continent. Immigrants all. Alternatively, if there's a cut-off point after a couple of generations, then the tabloids should stop accusing all and sundry of being benefit-scrounging, NHS-abusing "immigrants" just because they aren't Anglos. Rant over.
I agree with pretty much all of that Shim!
By the by, you mentioned Jamaicans... A friend of mine has a grandmother who seriously believes that the Jamaican's brought "mugging" with them into the country and that prior to their arrival such a thing just didn't happen in England. Hmm.
I don't have any specific examples of historical muggers to hand, but I can offer you the Mohocks (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mohock) who ran riot in the 18th Century, though taking money was apparently just about the only thing they didn't do. Highwaymen sound pretty much like muggers to me. I haven't been able to find out when laws against mugging (or something similar) were introduced here but I imagine they were fairly early.
